ABOUT AMERICAN SOCIETY OF THERMALISM AND CLIMATOLOGY

The AMERICAN SOCIETY OF THERMALISM AND CLIMATOLOGY (ASTC), Inc. (the “Society”) is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to the development of a thermal culture in America among professionals of medicine and consumers. It intends to be a recognized seat for the study and research of naturals factors (spring mineral water, mud, seaweed, seawater, climate, etc.) and uses these factors in different therapeutic in today’s medicine. In addition, we will also be working with mass media, giving complete information on how to achieve virtuous health by preventing disease, saving lives from disease, and diminishing suffering from disease through research, education, advocacy, and service.

ORGANIZATION HISTORY

Since 09/11/2007, when it was founded, the ASTC 2015 has been carrying out intense theoretic and practical research, also focusing on the environmental sector, and since 2007 it has been promoting several national studies, on behalf of public and private Entities, on relations between climate and health.

This activity is highlighted by several publications and monographs, as well as by hundreds of organized symposiums and conventions.

The ASTC avails itself of the facilities and co-operation of the medical staff of several well-known thermal establishments in America and around the globe for its clinical and experimental research and for the performance of teaching and training activities. The Association intends to be an institutional and qualified seat for study and research, furthermore, it acts as the center of wide-spreading, also in cooperation with the mass media, giving complete information on how to get a good health.

MISSION

The American Society of Thermalism and Climatology (ASTC) is an international non-profit organization serving members from more than 50 countries. The ASTC is the primary source of scientific information for Hot Spring (thermalism), Thermal Medicine, Thalassotherapy, and Health Spas worldwide.

Today the missions of the America Society of Thermalism and Climatology can be summarized as follows:

American thermal tradition: innovate and implement to ensure the appropriate application of therapeutic and complementary treatments of Integrated Thermal Medicine.
Base and clinical research: use base and clinical research to strengthen and enhance the action mechanisms, the therapeutic efficiency, and the related drug-economy business of thermal treatments.
Complementary Medicine: develop the themes of Complementary Medicine capable of promoting the development of medicine as a whole through the recovery of its human and holistic traits.
Well-being sciences: train and update specialists on the therapeutic role of Thermalism, as well as on approaches to wellness (physical exercise, nutrition, appropriate lifestyles).
Technology, management, and quality control: provide updates and advanced skills, also through practical workshops for specialists in the different sectors.

As its name indicates, Thermal America aims at examining the possibilities of opening access to wellness activities to the largest number of people and more specifically to seniors. Gaviota Spa Clinic

Gaviota Clinics is a clinical research center funded and supported by the American Society of Thermalism and Climatology. The government of both organizations is shared.

Gaviota Clinics a full-service, international Clinical Research Organization (CRO) serving the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and consumer healthcare industries. Gaviota provides comprehensive clinical trial management services for Phase 1-4 clinical research studies, including an inpatient Phase 1 facility and outpatient specialized research clinics.

Springlife Magazine

Springlife Magazine is an open-access journal publishing original peer-reviewed research articles in interventions and resources that complement or replace conventional therapies, with a specific emphasis on research that explores the Thermalism and Climatology mechanisms of action, as well as their efficacy, safety, costs, patterns of use and/or implementation. ASTC Membership includes a 25% reduced rate on the processing fee for submissions to Springlife Magazine

SPRINGLIFE is the first magazine edited in the United States of America with the objective of educate about the importance of the therapeutics with spring mineral waters; theme of important actuality in modern medicine
